A timer for anything done in rounds
The round timer counts rounds with rest between them and sounds a warning before each round ends. Coaches use it for drills and stations, teachers for group rotations, and athletes for sparring, wrestling and skill work.
How to set it up
- Set the round length and the rest between rounds.
- Set the number of rounds.
- Choose a warning time, for example 10 seconds, so everyone knows a change is coming.
- Pick a sound. The default buzzer carries well in a noisy gym or hall.
Ideas
- Station rotations: 8 × 4 minutes with 1 minute to switch.
- Skill drills: 12 × 1:30 with 15 seconds rest.
- Partner games: 10 × 1 minute with 30 seconds rest.
For boxing with a bell, use the boxing timer. For work and rest without a warning, use the interval timer.
